Richard is a financier and investor specialising in media and technology. Richard founded MCapital in 2012 and drives the groups commercial activities. MCap has completed $240m+ million of media transactions and currently operates with offices in the UK, US and Canada. Prior to MCap, Richard spent 4 years on the executive team at Northern & Shell Media Group, focused on the growth and monetisation of digital audiences across the group's publishing, broadcast, digital media and gaming assets. Richard’s career began age 16 when he founded NHD Holdings, an e-commerce network which grew to supply 2,200 retail clients across Europe such as Holland & Barrett and Lloyd’s Pharmacy Group.

Stan has been involved in all aspects of media and has been instrumental in developing a variety of large, highly profitable-assets from national newspapers to magazines, television and digital businesses. As Managing Director of Northern & Shell Media Group for 21 years, Stan grew the private company to £700 million in annual turnover with assets in over 20 countries, building a monthly digital audience across the Group of 100 million people. Under Stan’s leadership, assets of the Group included: 4 national newspapers; 5 national magazines (including OK! published in 21 countries); Channel 5, one of the largest free-to-air broadcasters in the UK; and The Health Lottery. Stan led the acquisition of Express Newspapers and transformed it into a highly profitable and cash-generative business. In 2010, Stan led the £103-million acquisition of Channel 5, an underperforming free-to-air broadcaster, and helped transform it into a powerful and highly profitable private business, which was sold to Viacom less than 4 years later for £450 million.

Leon is the Global CEO of MCap, which he co-founded in 2012. Leon spent 14 years working for investment banks within a specialist hedge fund facing role. Leon was previously an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, and ran a special situations equity team, as well as working within special situations teams at UBS Investment Bank and Macquarie Capital. His primary role centred around advising portfolio managers on investments in takeover spreads and event-driven equity strategies over a period between 2000 and 2011. Leon also worked alongside M&A bankers and Corporate finance teams across all sectors within the bank, advising senior management teams of the target and acquisition companies on likely stock movement during a takeover process, and both internal and hedge fund derivative desks on implied optionality and derivative strategies during corporate events. Leon’s client list included most of the largest global Merger Arbitrage hedge funds. Leon has been integral to raising the MCap funds to date, utilising his relationships from investment banking and hedge funds to raise capital from a wide variety and cross section of investors, and he continues to help lead the capital raising effort as well as the overall future strategy of MCap.
Patty Norway | Chief Executive Officer, Americas . . .
Patty joined MCap to support international expansion efforts. She is responsible for launching and managing operations across the Americas. Previously, Patty led Interpublic’s media investment arm, Orion Capital, where she held dual roles as Chief Media Officer and President Worldwide. There, she built the Orion Capital unit that invested hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of IPG and scaled the company to impact more than $1 billion in annual billings across 24 markets throughout the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Under Patty’s decade-long leadership, Orion averaged 38% growth each year – an unprecedented level for the industry. Patty started out in advertising at Griffin Bacal, negotiating commercial rates and securing program clearances for Hasbro-owned properties. Throughout her agency career, she has had the privilege to work with many global brands including Chrysler, ExxonMobil, Microsoft and Procter & Gamble.
Jason Clancy | Chief Operating Officer, Americas . . .
Jason is responsible for strategy, commercial development, and day-to-day operations for the Americas. Previously, he was Managing Director of WPP’s Aviator Worldwide – the world’s largest travel endemic media agency with more than $250 million in billings for clients that included Facebook, Marriott, Barclays, and Accenture to name a few. At Aviator, he led the business to see 24% growth year-on-year. Prior to Aviator, Jason spent nearly a decade at Interpublic’s Orion Capital, where he held various global leadership positions, focused on business development and corporate strategy. He contributed to the company’s astronomic growth with more than 200 new clients won around the world. Jason earned his MBA from The Kelley School of Business where he was a Chambers Scholar, and continues to be involved with the school by serving on their Board of Directors where he invests his personal time towards building the university’s top ranked entrepreneurship program.
Azon Howie | Director . . .
Azon is responsible for media agency and client relationships. Prior to joining MCap, Azon worked as EMEA Head of Investment at Omnicom Media Group, responsible to the EMEA CEO for the leadership and ultimately performance of each of the EMEA media investment teams, managing total client billings of over $20 billion per year. Clients ranged from multinationals such as PepsiCo, McDonald’s and Renault Nissan to market specific clients such as Sainsbury’s in the UK. Azon started his media career as a UK TV trader in 1991 working at DMB&B on Mars Pedigree. Azon spent about 20 years as a media trader at Dentsu-Aegis, where he took on increasing levels of responsibility, firstly focused on TV in roles such as Carat Head of Broadcast and then Aegis Head of Broadcast. During this time he was responsible for Carat and then Aegis’ Broadcast trading strategy, implementation and competitive buying performance on behalf of their clients. From 2011, Azon became Aegis Head of Investment across all media, where he was responsible for trading across all non- broadcast media as well for the group in the UK, responsible for client billings of around $5 billion per annum. Clients during this time again ranged from large multinationals such as General Motors and Microsoft to more market specific clients such as Shop Direct and the UK Government.
Will Oatley | Chief Executive Officer, Canada . . .
Will is responsible for the Canadian operations and developing MCap’s commercial presence in the digital marketplace. He has over twelve years of digital media experience which spans the UK, US, Germany and Canada. Will spent the past six years at Dentsu Aegis Network where he held positions as Head of Digital Investment, Commercial Director and Managing Director for Amnet, Dentsu’s programmatic trading desk. Will was also responsible for developing Microsoft’s award winning global media cloud strategy and has advised several adtech companies through to Series A funding.
